Does duel enrollment count as a year in college.

Currently I am enrolled as a sophomore in a community college and seeking to transfer into a university. On the university’s requirements for transfer students, it says that I can only have two years of college to be eligible to transfer; however, I duel enrolled at the same community college my senior year of high school. Does this mean I am not eligible to transfer to this university?.

Usually, that means two years of college credit. Since you did not name the college you are trying to transfer to, no one else can look at the wording to help you figure out what it means.

Thanks for the response. I wanted to try to transfer to Harvard, as one of my reach schools. But it said in their transfer requirements that it they wont accept any one with two years of previous college. By the end of the fall I will have 75 credits, with my duel enrollment credits.

Sorry not the fall the spring.

Ask the university. Just call them up, or email them.

https://college.harvard.edu/admissions/application-process/transferring-harvard-college/transfer-eligibility is what Harvard says. It does appear that they are not clear about how college credit earned while in high school is counted, except for some cases where applicants should apply as frosh.

Ask Harvard directly whether the college credit earned while in high school would count for putting you over the credit limit for transferring.
