I know for some schools...ED may actually hurt your chances because the pool is more competitive and they only pick the ones that they know will get in for RD. Is this true for Cornell CALS? Or does ED increase chances?

CALS ED is great if you are either mid 50% of applicants or greater. Like I had ok stats, i was deferred and in the end, given a guaranteed transfer, which im happy with. Some get rejected, many get deferred and then rejected, few get deferred and guaranteed transferred, and of course some get accepted. shoot for the last one :)

ps- if you're good enough to have the brains to consider ED, it almost never hurts your chances btw

Cornell as a whole accepts many students in the ED round....for CALS I think 30% of the incoming class is accepted through ED.

ED boosts your chances (that is if you have the stats to begin with)

applying early decision shows cornell that you are that much more interested in enrolling in the school. but i would only do ED if you are 100% sure that cornell is your first choice, not because you think it would just be an easier way to get in

what about the hotel school? I know i open another subject here,..sorry~~

Does ed help increase the chance?
