Does everyone live a more interesting life than I do?

I know this sounds so redundant and cliche but: I don't have anything I can write about for the essays and personal statement.

I was involved in quite a few things as a little kid but I quit all of as I got older so I have nothing I'm really good at.
I get good grades and do well at school but that's not anything special. I spend most of my time getting those good grades anyway.
I have no talents, or amazing experience like traveling to Africa and going on an eye-opening adventure..
What do I do?!?

Most people are ‘normal.’ CC might give the opposite impression, but the majority of applicants don’t have unique experiences like traveling to Africa. And colleges don’t expect you to. More than anything, colleges want to hear your voice and get a sense of your personality. That itself might sound redundant, but it is so true based on the essays I’ve read that have gotten people accepted.

Here are some starting ideas: Write about anything or anyone you care about. Write about what motivates you. Write about turning points in your life. Write about something that’s changed you into who you are now. What were you like in middle school and what are you like now? Different right? So what changed you? Brainstorm any ideas that you have, because you never know if one of those ideas will become your essay.

Thank you!

I think your honesty and humility is refreshing. I would try to develop something that reflects that.
