I notice on various material that the school "requires" 3 SAT IIs exams. Is that a black letter rule at the school ? Thank.

No it's not, but it is strongly recommended.

I would say *strongly recommended *is a more "politically correct" way of saying it's required...

I got in with 2 so no it's not required. But if you're worried about it just take 3 so you don't regret it later if you don't get in.

I didn't take any and I got deferred, then waitlisted, then finally rejected. I have an SAT I over 1550 and am ranked in the top 1% of my school...so I'm pretty sure that's why I didn't get in.

Mellohappy, what school did you apply to? B/c if its SFS, I would understand why. (No offense to you, its just that its THE most competitive school to get into within the Univ).

I applied to the SFS early action, without any SAT IIs, and was accepted EA, for what it's worth.

Yeah, SFS, but I'm pretty certain I would have gotten in with SAT IIs...I decided it wasn't worth taking them when I was offered nearly a full ride to another school.
