Does Georgetown still require 3 SAT Subject Tests?

I'll be applying to Georgetown, RD, 2012. I've taken both the SAT I and the ACT and have gotten satisfying results on both.

I'm planning on taking two SAT IIs. But, some schools let you use the ACT in lieu of SAT I + SAT II.

So, if I apply using ACT, do I still have to use 3 SAT IIs for Georgetown?

Or, if I apply using SAT, can I just submit two SAT IIs?

Thanks.

I’m sorry – I’d bet that this information is found with 5 seconds of trawling through GTown’s website, dontcha think?

I did do so.

ACT or SATI AND 3 subj tests

“Arrange to take the required SAT or ACT and three SAT
Subject Tests, and have the test results sent directly to
Georgetown University from the testing agency.”

‘SAT or ACT and three Subject Tests’

damn, that sounds like I’ll have to take three Subject Tests anyway.

yeah – I was surprised at those stringent requirements too.

Yes they require the sat II.

SAT or ACT, you still need the SAT subject tests. Be sure to check the Asmissions web site so that you have the right mix of subject tests.

Officially, Georgetown no longer requires three SAT subject tests for admission but instead “highly recommends” three, and that is regardless of whether you submit SAT or ACT. However, it also states that if you do not submit subject tests, you are supposed to explain in your essay why you did not. That kind of requirement seems to indicate you better take them unless you have the excuse that it was impossible to do so. Nevertheless, the key to Georgetown’s change last year from requiring subject tests to recommending them applies to Early Action. They will accept the excuse that you have not taken subject tests yet when applying early action and thus you will be considered for EA without subject tests; Georgetown also mentions that you should schedule to take them anyway in the event you are deferred to regular admission (Georgetown does not reject applicants EA, you are either admitted or deferred to RA).
