I know that Georgetown requires three Subject Tests for admission. I have Math Level 2 and Korean at the moment, which means I need one more subject. However, I was planning to take the SAT Reasoning Test in December in hopes of raising my scores, and thus, I wouldn't be able to take the last required subject.

So I was wondering, in a situation like this, would it be better for me to take one more Subject Test instead of the SAT Reasoning in December? Are three Subject Tests absolutely required for admission?

I have heard from some of my friends that some people got accepted with only two Subject Tests instead of the "required 3."

From what I know, Georgetown will consider your application without 3 SAT IIs. But you will need to send them in later. I know this is true for EA, but I don't know if it's true for RD. You can always call the admissions office.

Admissions told me that "the strongest candidates for admissiom will have 3 SAT II tests. And that it is not a "requirement" since international applicants may not have easy access to testing sites."
The better question to ask is whether any CC posters were admitted without submitting 3 SAT II tests, and, if so, were they later asked to do so or were APs allowed as a substitute.
Last year several CC posters wrote that they were admitted without submitting 3 SAT II tests. I don't recall whether their SAT I scores were unusually high or average for Georgetown.

they are rather lenient on the requirement for EA. it sounds like you are applying RD, where ther abscence will be more noticed. In terms of whether you should retake SAT I or take another SATII, it would be helpful to know your present scores

I took the SAT I in May and the ACT in September, so as you can see, the most recent scores are a better indication of my academic ability. Thus, I wanted to retake the SAT I, as I am confident that I will be able to get 750+ on Math, 700+ on Reading, and 700+ on Writing.

I called Georgetown about this; my son applied EA. They told me that the 3 subject tests were recommended, not required, for EA, but that he could send it in later on. Actually, she made it sound like it would help in admissions if you did the 3 tests but if you didn't they wouldn't throw out the application. Confusing.

Georgetown Admissions replied back! :D Here's what they said:

Yay. That means I can take the SAT Reasoning in December like I originally planned to, and then take one more Subject Test in January. Problem solved!
