What I mean by this is, does going to boarding school and generally doing well give you a “boost” in your college admissions rather than going to a random public school?
I would like to think so. I don’t think that necessarily just because you had a boarding school listed on your application, but more because of the opportunities provided at the boarding school that could help. For example, more advanced classes, more SAT prep, trying new sports or activities, etc. these are some things that you might not necessarily do at your local public school.
I don’t think simply going to boarding school gets you in. It’s the fact that boarding schools have advanced classes, more extracurriculars, and they also know that you can handle college life because you’ve handled boarding school. But simply going to boarding school won’t get you in.
