I was wondering, do very selective universities like harvard care about ib, to what extent? Is it better to just do honor courses and more ECs? How much easier is it to get in with ib? Please share any thoughts you have on the issue :)

Well my school does both IB and AP and from this years results more got in with AP (as they had more time to do other impressive E/C’s). Any other thoughts?

THe IB cas program should give you some good EC’s… The IB is A LOT more rigorous and the dean of admissions recognized that in an interview…
it is possible that your schools AP grades were just a bit better than the IB grades… which led to higher GPA’s
But if your doing great at IB then your at an advantage :D

good luck!

My D got accepted at Harvard, and she dropped IB program, and did all AP classes instead.I think they want to see a rigorous course of study, great grades,Ecs, and great test scores.IB is really great if you plan to go abroad for college.
