Does High School Type Matter?

I'm a junior at a career and technical academy in Nevada. I do know that if your school as a whole ranks high state wide or even nationally then it does help regardless of school type (private, public, charter, etc.) but my question is will colleges look at me in a better light due to the fact that I chose to go to a CTA as opposed to my regular zoned high school? (From what I've read, my school is 3rd best in Las Vegas) One of my school's counselors said no btw Thanks for any feedback!

I don’t think that it’s the high school type that matters; it’s the opportunities you take advantage of that are available that matter.
