does it look bad to....

take ap calc bc 2 years in a row even though I got an A and a 5 in it already? i'm pretty much out of math classes to take at school and i don't want to forget all the calc the learned

If it is part of your class schedule, they may wonder why you are taking it twice or may think that you took it just to get easy credit. If you want to take more math classes, try taking upper level calc at a local college, or maybe statistics at a local college?

If you don’t want to forget the calc, then maybe you could tutor some kids who are taking it this year?

CHeck local community colleges or online classes for more options. I presuming your HS doesn’t have AP Stats or you already took it.

i have tried to get courses at community colleges but i haven’t been able to get them due to the budget cuts in California. also i’ve taken AP stats already

Tutor. Looks much better.

It will be better for you and look better to colleges if you challenge yourself by going beyond what you have done already. If CC classes are not an option for you, check out Stanford’s online math classes. (They offer online classes in many areas.)

[EPGY Courses](http://epgy.stanford.edu/courses/index.html)

o thanks. btw do u know if colleges would know if u took an online course?

I definitely would recommend against retaking calculus, especially if you did well in it the first time. Try to find courses that will actually challenge you. If online classes are too expensive you should check out MIT’s OCW - lectures, course notes, homework, and tests are all posted online and free for anyone to download. I’d recommend checking out multivariable calculus (18.02 on OCW) or differential equations (18.03 on OCW) - both have extremely good online resources. Ask your guidance counselor if you can set up some sort of independent study arrangement allowing you to get credit for a class you learn using free online resources.

Tutoring kids taking calc BC is also a great way to make sure you don’t forget your calculus skills.

Edit to add: You can ask your guidance counselor to explain in your rec letter that you took extra online classes to challenge yourself because you had completed all the math classes your school offers.

^This. 10char

My guess is that if you took an online class from a reputable college, they would give you some kind of certificate or transcript indicating that you took the class.
