Does it matter if I drop AP Biology this late in the game?

I am in AP Stat an AP Calc BC, and Physics Honors (regular English)

I kinda got into an accident and now I can't write (I broke both of my arms). I am not having much trouble in my other classes, but AP Bio is killing me. I doubt I can even get a C.

Does it matter if I drop?

BTW feel free to ak me anything.

Can't you work something out with your teacher if it's the arms that are causing the trouble? And does your teacher give writing assignments, or do you just take notes?

my teacher isnt very helpful, she expects me to type everything up(which is fine). She's not mean, but I dont think she understands my problem

I understand the material so much better if I write it (it's engraved in my brain you know), and i really cant outline the book, it would take me 3 hours / chapter and we move really fast (sometimes 4 chapters a week)

hmm that's quite a predicament. at least your not in APUSH, my God, then you'd be dead. have you ever gotten a C before?? how long will it take for you to be able to write again though?

A straight drop without any indication to colleges you've applied to would hurt you. I would advise you to talk to each of your colleges individually and see what they say, because if you finish the year with a different schedule than you told colleges you would have, they may rescind your admission.

AP US history is mostly reading ... u can withdraw a course like this no problem ... just write ur colleges - a buddy of mine got into harvard and then got into a skiing accident over spring break ... had to drop 2 classes 2nd term senior year - still at harvard (sophomore)

Im applying to State schools, not top schools, and most of them do NOT require midterm reports

At this point, the problem is that colleges might rescind the acceptance when they received the final report. This happens very rarely, but it is very unpredictable. Sometimes, it seems that it is almost impossible to get your acceptance rescinded, and othertimes somebody will be rescinded for getting their first C.

Breaking both arms is very good reason. Also, you are probably running more of a risk by staying in the class and possibly getting a bad grade. It would also be less unlikely for large state schools to rescind an acceptance since they are more numbers driven.

Some people may support the AP Bio teacher and suggest that you must be doing something wrong, but I sympathize with you due to my own experience with my S during senior year. There was a special situation, and some of his teachers seemed very clueless.

Please talk to the school's administration - I believe that they may be required by law to make accommodations for someone with even a temporary disability. Check it out.

dufus, i totally understand what your sayiong BUT

my teacher is a tough grader, I got a 68 first semester, and I was just trying to bring it up to a C, which I doubt I can do now.
