I’m planning to apply to Tulane and A&M and both schools only have M. Arch programs that are accredited. will this affect me in my future career if only my masters is accredited?
Might want to check on Tulane again. NAAB website lists Tulane as having an accredited Bachelor of Architecture program.
The Master of Architecture is all you need to begin the process of becoming a licensed architecture. (In some states you can become licensed without a BArch or MArch, but it’s a longer and more complicated process.)
Your undergraduate degree can be in just about anything: BArch (accredited or not), BS/BA in architecture or architectural studies or any other degree art, environmental design, engineering, political science, philosophy etc.
Your undergraduate major may impact the length of time that it takes to complete your MArch. And you still need to fulfill the requirements of the individual MArch program that you are applying to, which are generally some art studio, some art history, some calculus and some physics. MArch programs vary widely in timing and prerequisites. Plus you will need to submit a portfolio with your application which is a significant factor in MArch admissions.
You’re right! for some reason I didn’t see it, must’ve checked an older list.
