Does it matter what grad school people go to?

I’m skeptical as well because of this line from the same post:

Yeah i was going to post that originally. but then i didn’t get it because the last part said that admissions will toss ur app IF you go to a school like merced. ***.

UC Merced is still deemed as a better school in rankings than CSU’s by recognition of it being a UC. I think thats all the guy was saying…aim for the big names and it will push your application to the top of the pile, however, you still have to prove yourself with gpa/test scores/ interview in order to stay at the top of the pile and in order to get a job. That makes sense to me. It’s like wearing a nice suit to an job interview will get you a good first impression but if you curse the whole time you will lose your grip on the job. You still have to prove you can do the job, but the first step is appearances. Luckily for me though, I’m not planning on going to medical school lol. However, what about in regards to just graduate schools? In the broad job market do you guys think an MA/phd at a low ranking state school with a good school record would have the same pull as an average school record from a top grad school?

lol i like ur example. haha we had a speaker come to our class and he was in medicine but he cursed the whole time lmao but he was hilarious and i love black people. so it’s not big deal. : ] and he earned his respect.

what do u do besides med school if u just want to go to grad school? Is that an option? To work in something related to medicine, get good money, and not kill urself through school?

like this.

"what do u do besides med school if u just want to go to grad school? Is that an option? To work in something related to medicine, get good money, and not kill urself through school? "

lol wait seriously? For example I want to get a PhD in History…many universities require one in order to teach at their institutions and in order to move up in a pay bracket. Grad school isn’t just for medicine…however a PhD would make me a Doctor! lol

wait what? I’m asking if there’s something you could do in the medical field without going to “med school” but just going to “grad school”. If that’s possible. and i don’t want to teach.

ooohhh I read your question wrong lol sowry :P…however I don’t know…you can go to DeVry and become a medical technician in 16 months? lol

lol k nevermind. i guess i either have to decide to do it or not. I guess i can be an RN too but then i might as well do pharmacy.

Did someone say “UCSF”? Yay, UCSF!

I don’t believe so.
