<p>statistically it probably helps since rhode islander's are proportionally represented more highly than states out west or down south with higher populations.</p>

<p>That is definately a rumor. It may be true, but its not school policy. Rhode Island might help since they are proportionally represented more highly, but that also may be due to more applications coming from Rhode Island.</p>
<p>it's also probably impossible. there are less spots in the entering class for rhode islander's (at least going by typical numbers), than there are high schools in rhode island</p>
