Does Major choice impact your chances?!?!

HI everyone, I'm a L.A. student applying to UC Irvine, San Diego, LA and Berkeley. I'm having trouble deciding a major, and want to apply undeclared to all of them. Would that benefit/harm my chances?

I don't quit understand choosin gthe major, if you choose a major, and you get in, does that mean you're guranteed a spot in the major and admitted in the major, or is just askin you what your potential major might be.

Advice?!? THanks!

At a UCLA info session tonight, the admissions counselor explicitly stated that applying "undeclared" in the College of Letters and Science was perfectly fine-- and that your chance of admission was just as likely as if you had chosen a major. However, for certain other schools-- like for theater, or nursing, or engineering-- you must apply to the major, because the applications are reviewed separately, and some have extra requirements.
