Does marketing mean anything?

My daughter has received acceptance to four of her schools thus far; still waiting on several others. One of the schools to which she was accepted (with a decent merit award) continues to contact us pretty frequently. She and I have received quite a few emails including one from a professor in her Major area, a phone call invitation to an event in our city (not the school's city), a text message right after she applied very early requesting her official transcript ASAP, stuff in the mail at least once a week, invitations to accepted student events, etc.

This particular school has been very personable from the start, but since my daughter was accepted the communication seems to have ramped up. I realize much of this communication is generic and everyone gets it, but should she read anything into this? Or is this school just crazy about marketing? None of her other schools have followed up with her this much, including the one that gave her a larger merit award.

Keep in mind we are not talking about top tier schools here.

Read it as: Please matriculate at our college because, a) you’re a great candidate that we would like to have in our fr class, and b) it will help our yield.
