<p>I have a relative who is currently attending medical school at Duke, and I'm applying to Duke for undergrad and wondering if I can list them as a relative who has attended Duke, or if it has to be just that they attended the college at Duke for it to count.</p>

<p>You should definitely list them on your application, but you will not be considered a legacy unless the relative is a sibling, parent or grandparent.</p>
<p>“A legacy student is an applicant who has grandparents, parents, or siblings who have attended or are attending Duke. Duke does take legacy status into consideration when evaluating applications, but it will not make or break any individual application.”</p>

<p>Yeah, it won’t be counted as a legacy, but it will probably help.</p>
