I can't seem to find someplace that says that. Are there special forms that are different from the freshman ones?

no... they do not require teacher recommendation... did you apply yet?
if you did... when are you going to?... what are you stats?

Did not require them 2 years ago. YMMV.

Always, always, always... if you are unsure of something like this, check with the Admissions office. Don't rely on us helpful strangers on the Internet.

They do not require teacher recommendations.

even though they dont require it, I think its helpful just to have one of your professors write something out for you and send it to them. Thats what i did when I applied this December for Fall 08.

what if i dont know my professors very well. i mean my class sizes are usually over 200 people, so not much one on one interaction with the teacher. can i get an old high school teacher to write it?

you can do anything you want that you think would help your chances in admission. Yes, you can send that if you want to. especially if you are on the borderline, that could help significantly.

so it doesnt matter if its high school teachers or college professors sending in the recs?

hey Constable. Did you hear your response back from UMICH yet?

I think they would prefer the recommendations come from college professors, if you send them at all since they are not necessary for most majors. An artistic recommendation is required for applicants to the music school.

i dont know any of my college professors personally. my class sizes are 500, 300, 250, and 35

do you know your TA? most colleges will accept a recommendation from a TA, i believe. did you go to their office hours? engage in witty banter?

i only had TAs in two of my classes and they were all the devil's offspring for real! is it really THAT bad if I get my HS teacher's recs? I mean they knew me for like 3 years as opposed to 18 weeks

No. Personally, I would go with whoever writes the best recs.

There is a HUGE problem. In my school, we HAVE to sign a consent form that says we can not see the teacher recommendations, so i have no clue whether my recs from last year and i guess now this year are good or bad

no, I havent heard yet

i never saw any of my recommendations. the teachers that write excellent recommendations are the ones with whom you have a strong bond, know your intellectual capacity, and can express that extensively. the teachers i chose actually asked me first, because i had talked to them about college. you are making much too big a deal of something you cannot control.

i JUST submitted my app to michigan---very late i know dont ask. kinesiology baby! mich has always been my dream school so hopefully my prayers can be answered. did all of you guys send in resumes?

my situation is different from yours, so i can't really compare. but for the music program we had to submit a resume and repertoire list.

i haven't applied yet. i guess i should get on that...
