Our family was lucky enough to receive three offers of acceptance with generous financial aid offers. Obviously, we can only choose one. So, that means two schools will have money to offer those who may have been waitlisted for FA. Has anyone gotten financial aid after being on the FA wait list in the past? Or is this something that doesn't happen? Perhaps someone has experience from the past that may be useful for this year's students. I would hope that the FA that we won't be using will go to other deserving students, rather than just going back into the general fund.

DD was finaid wait-listed at one school. The admissions office encouraged us to "sit tight" in hopes of $$ being available. We gave it 7 - 10 days - - and then went w/ D's 2nd choice school, which offered a generous and definite finaid package.

D was also finaid wait-listed by one Manhattan day school - - that money nerer came through (and we declined the seat).

I got waitlisted for FA, so I'm also very curious about this!

Actually, D #1 was waitlisted 4 years ago... She not only got of the waitlist, but received a greatFA package, almost the whole amount of room and board room and board .............
