Does not graduating high school affect transferring?

As the question states, I didn’t graduate high school. I already have my GED and am planning to go to a CC and transfer as a junior. Most of the schools I’ve looked at require high school transcripts and don’t say anything regarding waiving this requirement. So how bad is it? I know there’s this thing where you can do the whole “I didn’t do well in high school but did really good in college” but that’s for people who mannaged to graduate right? Should I just resign myself to tranferring to an in state college or is there a way I can pull transferring out of state off?

High School GPA was between 1.8-2.2 as far as I remember.

My top 2 are USC and UChicago so you can get an idea of how hard this will be.

You need to contact each place on your list and let them know that you have your GED. Ask them which documents will be required after you have completed two full years at the CC and are able to transfer in with junior status. Ask specifically if they have different requirements for students who complete an AA or AS degree at the community college rather than just taking courses there. Many do.

If you are transferring as a jr most universities would simply want the college transcripts and not bother with hs but if you have any specific u’s in mind I’d check. That information is usually available under transfer guidelines.
