Does NYU waitlist?

And if so when do we find out we are and what are the chances of getting in afterwards?

I got the idea from some earlier posts that I read that sometimes people who were in GSP "moved into" CAS before the start of freshman year. But really, I'm not sure. It seems with the GSP program that those applicants are sort of the waitlisted people. I don't mean to say anything insulting. It just seems that GSP are the applicants who would be the next ones admitted, if there were more spaces available.

straight out of the common data sets of 2006-2007
for fall admissions 2006:
waitlisted 1402 people
admitted afterwards 84 (approx. 6%)

also it seems like it is ranked as well but they dont release your rank to you or your guidance counselor

hope this helps :)

A question I have is whether or not wait-listed people also receive invitations to Admitted Student Events.

it's true, some people do move into CAS from GSP
two people from my school did last year
