From what I've looked at, Oberlin seems like a good fit, personality-wise, for me. But I really want to get into a school with a good-nay, a GREAT- Molecular Biology program. Does Oberlin have such a program, and if not, could someone please direct me to a similar school that DOES have a good Molecular Bio program?

You are going to be hard pressed to find a program in the US that is explicitly named Molecular biology, although such programs are common outside the US.At most liberal arts colleges like Oberlin, the biology related majors will be Biology,Biochemistry,Chemistry and Neuroscience. You might want to consider UPenn School of Engineering and Applied Science which offers a degree in Molecular engineering(again, not exactly what you are looking for). That said,Oberlin is very strong in the sciences, and has outstanding opportunities to do undergraduate research,so I am sure you will be able to thoroughly explore your passion in molecular biology.

Oh, thanks! I’ll make sure to look into that.

Not particular to Oberlin, or this major, but just in general for questions like this:

Suggest, as one data point, look up the registrar’s list of courses actually given each of the last two semesters, to determine whether it appears each particular school you are considering has sufficient breadth and depth of offerings in your prospective areas of interest. Not the course catalog, which may list every course they’ve ever given or thought about, but courses actually given recently, from the registrar’s pages.

Compare that course list to the list at other colleges or universities of interest.

If they don’t teach it there, it will be a lot harder for you to learn it there.

Again, this is just a general comment.

I noticed Molecular Biology on the list of majors at Scripps (one of the Claremont colleges) just today. It had a star of some kind by it, which I think maybe means it is actually offered by one of the other Claremont colleges (not necessarily Scripps). So you might go poke around on the Claremont college websites to see which one(s) offer it as a major.
