Does owning a buisness look good for college?

I will be 16 this month, and I have been talking to my dad about starting a business. I know it's time consuming, but it's something I have wanted to do for such a long time.
When my dad was a security officer, he worked for a man who owned his business in his kids name who was only like 14 at the time. I heard that it worked out great for the both of them.

Now, that's not what I want to do. I actually would like to start one myself. When I go to college I want to study film. I know some people are against it, but that's what I want to do.

My problem is, if I started a company, would it look good for college? I'm not doing this for college, but I thought it might help. I want to start a film business. I really think I could do it!

Any advice would be great.

By the way, I'm a sophomore, but I am home schooled at FLVS (Florida Virtual School). I want to go to UF.

Yes, starting a business looks good to colleges. Heck, failing to start a business looks decent, as long as you put some work in.

Oh wow. Thanks. I’m really going to try!
