What the title says. My highest composite score is a 34, but my superscore is a 35. Does Penn superscore the ACT? Will a 34 vs. 35 really make a difference in the admissions process? Thanks
34 or 35 put you in the game. It will come down to the rest of your application. EC’s, GPA, leadership, essays, and recs.
@BigPapiofthree Thanks for your response!
Anyone else?
Nobody superscores the act pretty much, definitely not the ivies. That doesnt mean they wont notice a high score in one subject though.
A word of advice – if you want to succeed at a college like Penn you should get in the habit of doing some basic research on your own. A two second google search found this from the Penn admission website (scroll down to additional information section for answer).

@happy1 I did in fact do my research already. However, there are several other websites that do not have Penn listed under the schools that superscore the ACT, so I was unsure whether or not the information listed on Penn’s admissions website was up to date.
@confusedcolleges I’d always go with the school website rather than a list you find online.
@happy1 sheesh, there’s no need to throw around condescending remarks. Besides, on Penn’s website (the exact same page you sourced), they DO say that “For the ACT, we consider the highest individual English, Math, Reading, and Science scores across test sittings. In other words, we superscore the ACT and we superscore within old and new SATs but not between old and new SAT tests.” So this means @stressedsenior99 is wrong.
@pennapplicant it was meant to be advice (from a Penn alum) not condescending – but I can’t stop you from taking the comment as you choose I guess. The very reason for my comment stressing the need to go to direct sources (such as the college website) is that bloggers, in this case stressedsenior99 can mistakenly give incorrect information. CC is be helpful for advice etc. but it should not replace applicants doing their research (especially when it is just entails going to the school website, doing a google search, or something along those lines) that would assure they get the correct answers to basic questions.
