Does Pitt offer merit-based full rides other than the Chancellor's Scholarship?

And I mean merit-based full rides, not full tuition. Like do they give full tuition, room/board, meal plan, and books? A kid from my school says they were offered that after being admitted as a business major, but weren't invited to apply for the Chancellor's. I'm assuming because they already got everything haha. So does Pitt do that? I thought the Chancellor's was the highest scholarship, and then full tuition? Is there some way I could get that stuff without getting the Chancellor's?

bump bumpp

Pitt has full rides similar to Chancellor. These scholarships do not require additional applications or interview (students have been awarded them just with their initial application to Pitt). Besides the Chancellor there is:

Adena Johnson Davis Scholarship in Nursing
Full tuition, room, and board for one freshman per year in the School of Nursing.

Helen Faison Scholarships
Full tuition, room, and board for up to four years (eight semesters). Five awards annually to students enrolled full time in the College of Arts and Sciences. Established in honor of Dr. Helen Faison. One of the University’s most distinguished African American Alumni and former superintendent of Pittsburgh Public School.

Donald M. Henderson Engineering Scholarships
Full Tuition, room, and board for up to four years (eight semesters). Two awards annually for students enrolled in the School of Engineering. Established in honor of Dr. Donald Henderson, provost and senior vice chancellor at the University from 1976 to 1993.

Robert R. Lavelle Scholarship
Full tuition, room, and board for up to four years (eight semesters). One award annually for a student enrolled in the College of Business Administration. Established in recognition of Robert R. Lavelle, a distinguished alumnus who is nationally know for his civil rights actions in the area of real estate equality for all.

I think that there some endowed scholarships, like from alumni, that you can get that are full ride, as a few people have gotten some of those on here I believe. I don’t know if there is a full list of them posted anywhere though.

Actually, what MTNest said above me.

if you can get a full ride based on the major you’re applying to, isn’t it a bit unfair that students in other majors have to apply for the long process of the super-exclusive Chancellor’s Scholarship to receive the same aid?

You have to realize they are using those scholarships to try to get students they want whether it be URMs or students from specific states etc. And who said life is fair!!!
