Does rank matter for scholarships? Can I still get scholarships if my rank is low? I'm going to a new school next year so my rank might be low since the school I'm going to has a lot of smart kids who have taken honors and AP classes since freshman year and I have not so I don't know how low my rank would be. Thanks!

no not really but then it depends on the school. I received scholarships from colleges and i am in the middle of my class in terms of rank because its really competitive. I got one for grades, one for volunteer work and another for grades and volunteer work. MOst colleges do not give scholarships based on rank anymore because most schools do not rank anymore

Most scholarships with acedemic prerequisites usually require you to have a certain gpa or a certain SAT/ACT score. They don’t usually ask for rank, except for the little hometown scholarships for like $500 that seem to always only want applicants in the top 50% of their class.

If you’re in the top 25 percent (preferably top 10 percent), you should be fine.

I don’t THINK it matters…I have a really low rank, but I got scholarships anyway.
