Does reading classics help SAT reading and writing? I have no idea why I read quite a bit but still got unsatisfying results.

It helped me quite a lot. But the aim is not just to read, but to try and soak up and understand what the author is trying to convey each time you read a passage/article/chapter. Underline or highlight any words you don’t know and look them up in a dictionary. Next, create a list of the unknown words on a word document and go over these words on a daily basis. Even if these words don’t come up in the SAT, they’re a huge confidence booster.

My score went from 620 to 720 doing this. 720 is amazing, but the score jump was pretty good (from June to October).
