Does Reapplying to a UC hurt your chances of getting in the second time?

Hi guys!
So a couple months ago in November I applied to 5 different UCs. While I was applying I was taking a Calculus class, I ended up getting a D in the class. I also had to drop one of my winter session classes. So I know for a fact I won’t be getting into the UCs that I applied to due to grades and lack of credits. So I’m going to do one more semester and reapply. But I’m just wondering if reapplying will hurt my chances of getting in? Do they keep your records and refer back to them if you reapply. Do I have to still send my transcripts and update my grades for them even though I know for a fact I won’t get in? Has anybody applied twice and gotten in the second time around? Thank You!

Each application window is handled separately so, it won’t count against you. I’d strongly suggest you use the Transfer Guarantee (TAG) program. I’d also encourage you to apply to a handful of CSUs so you have the option to keep moving forward.
Good luck
