<p>Hello, I will be attending Rutgers Newark this fall semester, and will be majoring in Computer Science. I will like to know, does Rutgers Newark provide you with a laptop? And if so, what type, and how are the specs? I was thinking of getting a good well built Lenovo thinkpad, or does Rutgers provide you with one?</p>

Also thank you, so this means I will have to buy my own laptop, for Rutgers will not be providing one for me, right? [The reason I am asking this is b.c my Grandmother thinks Rutgers Provides us with a laptop, and I just want to make sure, cause if they do, then she said don’t buy a new one, and just use the one they give you].</p>
<p>I’m pretty sure they don’t provide a computer. But they have computer labs, where you will have access to a computer (it’s not as convenient of course).</p>

<p>Is it better to buy the laptop thru Rutgers or buy it on your own? Does it matter if it’s Apple or IBM, Dell, etc…? Are dorm rooms wireless?</p>
<p>Are you asking me or someone else? Idk if you can buy one through Rutgers? And now it is up to personal preference on which laptop you buy… Also yes, I believe wireless should be every were on campus…</p>
<p>Actually, most dorm rooms aren’t wireless which is unbelievable in this day and age. You can buy a laptop thru Rutgers but I don’t know if there is any benefit except for the discount they say you will receive.</p>
<p>Wow thats pretty sad… I hope there is atleast Ethernet’s in the dorms… lol, what is stopping someone from just setting up there own wireless network… I would do that :P</p>
