Does Sending a Letter to the FAO Help?

My family was planning to send a letter to the Financial Aid Office of the school i was accepted to explaining in more detail our financial situation which could have seemed murky w/o any explanation. On paper it was mostly likely misconstrued so i want to be clear with them. I will also add in a part explaining my desire to go there in hope they will understand how important the school is to me. I also want them to know it is my only option for hs. Right now i was not granted FA at all, my family cannot afford to take out loans, and i need alot more $$$ than 0 to even consider going to that school in the Fall. Do you think it will work in conjunction with an appeal?

Trying can’t hurt, right? Good luck!

I think it would probably help. Give them a super clear sense of your situation. I would try to email or call, not write a letter- you’ll want to be able to have a direct conversation with someone. However, before you call, do review your numbers you filled out and make sure there weren’t any typos or omitted information. Then you have all the information and a better chance at successfully appealing the decision. Good luck!
