Ok, so I buy a lot of stuff online for my aunts, cousins and parents. They would give me money and I put in my checking account and order for them. My question is will this affect my FAFSA/financial aid? I’m just helping my family buy stuff online, none of the money are mine.
If the money was in your account when you took the amount and put it on the FAFSA form, they would treat it like it is yours.
I spend the money immediately. I always have less than 2k in my account. Does FAFSA check spending or just balance?
If I spend the money immediately after i deposit the money does it affect to my FAFSA at all? Another question. If I had $1000 when I reported to fafsa and next week i have $5000 in my bank, fafsa will only count the $1000 right?
on the day you file the FAFSA, if you have $5,000 in the bank, that is what you must report
so if the day i fill out the fafsa and I have $1000 thats the amount i report and if i added more money it doesnt matter ?
Why can’t these folks order for the, selves if you are worried about this?
Or just tell them that you can’t do,this ordering for them at all between January and June of any year.
Regardless…the balance in your account the day you file the FAFSA is what is used. So on that day, make, sure your account doesn’t have money from all of,these folks (are they ordering through you because you have free shipping with Prime?).
FAFSA does not check your account, and does not check your spending. If you are selected for verification, you might have to prove the balance on the day you filed the FAFSA. The only way you may have to do that is show a snap of your account on that day or a statement with the balance.
