my school starts at a wack time and ends kinda late (4:30 on normal days, 6:30 if I have orchestra practice- off-block means school ends at 3 but i still need to go back to school for orchestra rehearsal), hence me saying community college times might not work for me- but i’ll look into it more for sure!
i’ve already maxed out my school’s stem courses as mentioned before, so i’ve taken algebra i through ap calc bc, ap statistics, ap physics 1+2+C, ap chem, ap environmental, ap comp sci principles, ap comp sci a, etc. haha i love physics though! i’m shooting for at least a usapho bronze this year for fun hehe
it depends i think. a lot of kids at my high school end up taking one off-block junior year, and then another one senior year. i didn’t take an off-block my junior year, which is kinda why i’m flopping around with two off-blocks my senior year. but yea, i think most kids at my school tend to take maybe 5-6 core classes/subjects?
could your off block be in the morning rather than at 3pm? (teenagers tend to lack sleep and have later wake up times than adults, so it might be win-win for your health, too).
In any case, taking 2 off blocks won’t look bad to colleges considering everything else you’re doing.
My daughter did this. All HS should offer this. The hour kids start school is way too early. Few adults do this and my daughter says half the kids yawn all day. They stay up late and it’s an issue. It’s been discussed by our school board who does nothing. But if you have morning transportation it’s a great idea.
That’s al little odd to take those subjects in the summer, admissions will typically look for those to be during the year, you may have to explain that, unless it’s covid related or something along those lines. Anyway having the off-blocks shouldn’t be an issue, in local schools here as an example, if you take a sport, which many do, you can’t a full course load anyway. You’re taking MVC as well.
