Hey guys! I’m planning to transfer to UMass for spring 2022. I currently attend a private university in another distant state, and due to personal reasons I’m not able to travel there for the fall. However, I’ve only taken 1 CS course so far due to a change in interests. The CS department’s admissions pages say that they expect transfers to have already taken a couple math classes/have credit and up to COMPSCI 187 it seems.
I live in MA, and I was wondering if I enrolled in a few of the equivalent classes at a local community college this fall if that would improve my chances of being accepted to CS (because then I’d have more lower level major requirements under my belt due to the 10-semester limit).
I’m wondering if anyone here has had a similar experience, either with transferring schools altogether or just with transferring credit.
