I just took the SAT for the first time but did not reach my expectation. I got 600 CR, 710 Writing, 760 Math. Then I decided to retake the SAT in May. and my goal is to reach 2200+, or probably 2300. So I am just worried that if I get 2200+ the next time , does the first time still affect much to my admissions to the colleges? Because the difference between these two may be approximate to 200 scores!

What grade are you in?

the 11th, and I am going to take the second time in May

No, most, if not all, colleges take your highest. Some schools (like the UCs) require all SAT 1 tests and don’t superscore, but they still consider your highest. As a matter of fact, I can’t think of any university that *doesn’t *take your highest.

@zchristinay, I am in the exact same situation as you except our scores are a little different. I think schools will not look down on those scores because they’re really good for a first try! If you can improve you will be at no disadvantage! Good luck!
