Does the origin of my undergraduate degree matter in admission into top medical scho

So, I'm at the point where I'm trying to decide which college to go to. I've been accepted to UC Davis, UCLA, UC Berkeley, Stanford, and UCSB. Though UCSB is considered the least prestigious of where I've been accepted, I've really been considering going there, because its the best environment for me and I would have to party significantly less there because of a scholarship which is very important to me. Would picking UCSB be detrimental to my dream of attending a top 5 medical school? Is the origin of my undergraduate degree a factor in admissionto medical schools like Stanford?

Doubt it. As you’ll see as you look into past threads about this subject, med schools care MUCH much more about your GPA, MCAT, ec’s, ect.

Why do you think that you have to attend a Top 5 med school? Why? What difference would that make?

All US MD schools are excellent. ALL OF THEM.

I want to chime in. Where you go to undergrad does matter. Where you to go med school matters as well. If you look at the residency and fellowship matches out of top med schools like Stanford are more consistently getting into the top residency programs. The people from the top residency programs get the best fellowships. The people with the best training will get the best jobs.
I do think there is more thought to go into this process, but I have experience through all these levels and I teach at Stanford.
