**Top choices

I am very worried about my low GPA. I cannot improve my C in AP Bio. I am actually struggling to maintain a C average in that class. I improved sophomore year, but I have a major downward trend this year. What if I get straight As in the first semester of next year? Will that help? Or am I screwed for my top choices?

pros: great SAT score, you’re taking hard classes in a good school

cons: the B in Ush isnt spilled milk because it is an AP class h/o the bio is gonna hurt

you’re gpa is salvagable with the reast of your pacakage

have u done anything over the summer

brown14 - I will do an internship this summer, but I still need to find out where. Also, I will take online economics and accounting courses so I can meet the graduation requirement. In my school, we need an elective to graduate, but I am in orchestra, so I cant do an elective. So I will take economics and accounting over the summer so that I can get credit.

In the past three summers, I have volunteered at a my local library’s “Summer Teen Volunteer Program.” I will also do that this summer. And I have volunteered at the hospital and worked as a tutor, but those are year-round, not just the summer.

Thats basically it for what I did in the summer. If I get a 5 on the AP Bio exam and a good score (750+) on the SAT II Bio, will that make up for my C?

The thing is, on the application from what I’ve heard, is that you don’t put your score on there.
That’s what kept me away from self studying another 3 ap’s.

From all the advice i was given:

A Higher Sat Score (I’m looking at a 2350 ish) > more and all 5 ap’s

Of course, a 5 is preferable, but, forgive me if its “bad” advice (it’s just my resolution), I would spend a bit more time on SAT’s as it is one of the few things that colleges put much weight on and is also standardized (compared to Ap’s)

Thats just my two cents worth.

bump…

i agree im the same boat as u- high sat/decent gpa
we both gotta work on bringing up our scores
thats the best advice i can give

and show interest in ur major…esp for these big time programs like stern
