Does this LAC exist?

I'm applying ED to Davidson, and when I visited (twice) I didn't think it seemed that "preppy." I'd call it more relaxed than preppy, if that makes any sense, it just seems like everyone does their own thing, works really hard, and seems happy about it.

All this Davidson talk worries me...I'm applying ED, and now I don't think I have a chance at getting in. Before, I thought I was set, but now I'm pretty worried.

That's normal. You'll go back and forth on your chances. Back and forth, some days positive, some days sure you have no chance. There's nothing you can do until the letter arrives!

I don't think anyone has mentioned Macalester yet....? Minneapolis, City LAC, liberal, not preppy. Not sure about specific strong depts.

Forgot about Barnard - a very good suggestion given the tough criteria...

Pitzer came to my mind.

I was talking to the parent of a Davidson student recently, and I think the conservative label needs some further defining. Students probably are politically more conservative than at non-southern LACs, but they sounded as though on social issues they are reasonably liberal. In other words, there are Republicans who are pro-life, pro-gay/lesbian rights, and who embrace diversity.
