I applied to Yale SCEA along with about 20 other kids from my school. Of the 20, they accepted SIX. I was deferred along with two other kids. I couldn't believe it. The most that have ever been accepted in either decision round has been 4. I attend a HIGHLY competitive high school in Maryland. Our school was also the only public school in our county that had students accepted to Yale. Does the fact that so many were accepted SCEA ruin my chances of getting in RD?

Um… according to their official propaganda… no.

Unofficially, maybe.

Geographical diversity is a huge concern to schools, and six people from a school is a lot… However, it still boils down to the strength of your application over anything else.

jeez. six. from the same school? thats really insane. which HS do u attend?! im so transferring.
but in all seriousness, i dnt believe it ruins your chances. as gryffon said things might be tuff for you know.
but chin up. you never know and its not over until they say its over.

btw, congrats on being deffered from yale. for me thats already something. ppl tend to forget they got deffered from one of the best schools in the world…
