Does tufts suit a Scientific and philosophical person?

I fell in love in tufts not long ago. It is just when I read the article about the philosophy PROF.Daneil dennett in the tufts booklet, i got a strong feeling to study with him. His area of Philosophy is totally what I am interested in: evolutionary theory. and he is one of the best in world of this subject.

However, when I did further research, though i am content about its good location and happy student life(btw i am chinese , and chinese groups in boston are in close relation, a lot fun- - ), i am not sure about its science education. I am really a science person , i am good at physics having 3rd award in national phys olympia bla bla.. and i kind of want to learn computer science. where as tufts are not so strong in these 2 area.

I am just not sure. give me some advice plz.. recommend some other schools that fit me. THX
MY act is 32 now and i will take another on oct to reach about 34. i have sat2 math phys chem all 800 ap calculus phys c both E and M 5

Visit and find out. Nobody here can decide for you.

Actually, Tufts is known for its great computer science program. The professors and classes are excellent, and the research being done is pretty impressive. I don’t know much about the physics program, but Tufts has excellent science programs in general, especially biology/pre-med courses. Definitely check it out. You could email a physics and comp sci professor to ask about their respective programs and what kinds of opportunities they offer. Best of luck!

Actually, Tufts is well respected in the sciences.

The computer science program is especially good:

One of the professors in the CS department at Tufts won the IEEE award for teaching this year.

Interestingly, the CS department teaches C++ in the intro class. Most schools, including MIT, avoid C++ in intro classes because it’s pretty difficult.

thx for all you guys i 'll visit tufts in oct.
