Does UConn have a lot of East Indians?

<p>I'm transferring to UConn. I'm a very social person by nature and would love to know about how things are on campus. I have to ask this since I'm East Indian. Are there a lot of indians on campus? Is there an indian club (group, organization, cultural club, anything of the sort...)?</p>

<p>I see no undergrad. indian student association here. The only one that exists is the grad. student one. And yet on the facebook, I see all these indian party pics by past undergrads.</p>

<p>What the hell is up the people here.</p>

<p>My cousin at cornell is partying it up here. She's also new there and they actually invited new students to come visit and drink with them. I'm sitting here at uconn not knowing ANYONE because no one sends out any welcome come meet us flyers. No e-mail. Nothing.</p>

<p>My roomate is indian, he disagrees. There are tons of organizations, you find them, they don't find you unless you are in there facebook group. Apparently they have a meeting sept 12 he says. But yea for parties go to Carriage or Celeron. You will meet everyone there of all types.</p>

<p>i know a bunch of indian uconn students, and they say there is a very large indian population. according to their facebook profiles, there are tons of organizations, ranging from religious to cultural to social etc</p>

<p>Got it. I didn't realize they used the facebook as the major communication system. I'm happy now. Sorry about my uproar. lol. </p>

<p>carriage? celeron? some girl mentioned those to me but I wasn't sure. are those apartments. do I just walk in on those parties?</p>

<p>Yea just walk to those parties, they are "off campus" apartments but really close anyways.</p>
