<p>Since the tuition is the same for in-state and out-of-state I wouldn't think that they would but it didn't say anything about residency on the site and they take hours to answer the phone.

<p>No, UM is not a public school with proof of residency requirements. It is a private school, so tuition is the same, in state or out of state.</p>
<p>It may need to simply know that you are a resident of the US as opposed to an international for the purpose of financial aid but otherwise which state you are from does not change anything.</p>
