can u get an A+ or an A- or is it jsut A. Is there grade inflation?

It's either an A (4.0) or an A- (3.7)

It is widely accepted that Vanderbilt doesn't have overall grade inflation as compared to Ivy League & similar schools.

There's grade deflation, if anything.

I must agree with feenotype.

What Ivies are you referring to? Princeton, for example, caps the percent of students in a given class who can receive an A. This is hardly grade inflation.

I don't remember, but I thought that the average undergrad GPA that the school released last spring was between 3.1 and 3.2. 3.14 is coming to mind. An A- is 3.67 if you want to split hairs. Peabody College gives out A+s, the College of Arts and Science does not. I've never taken a course an engineering or Blair course. The A+ does not count as 4.33 at Vanderbilt, it is still 4.0. However, if you are applying to law school, the LSAC does count an A+ as a 4.33.
