Does visiting a school boost acceptance chance?

I have recently visited the University of Richmond, and I was just wondering if showing interest by visiting and having a campus tour boosts your chances of acceptance?

http://www.collegedata.com/cs/data/college/college_pg02_tmpl.jhtml?schoolId=1630 indicates that Richmond considers “level of applicant’s interest”, so having a visit recorded may help in that respect (different schools use different criteria to determine “level of applicant’s interest”).

awesome, this was helpful. thanks!

many colleges make their Common Data Set filing public. If you look at the doc for colleges you are interested in, they list all the factors they consider in admission and indicate the importance they give to each. The table in the link provided by @ucbalumnus is the data you will find, if the college you are considering isn’t listed on that website

Some schools care a lot about demonstrated interest and it can be a factor in admissions. But other schools don’t. If a school recommends an interview, than they are a school that cares about it. A lot of the lacs track it.
