Does Yale really look at the highest score?

Hi

I have taken 3 SATs with a superscore of 2330, but my lowest WR is 640 and RD 670 (in the same sitting with Math 800 - so total is 2110, the other 2 settings are 2200,2260,)

How does that look if I want to apply for SCEA? And does Yale really consider the highest section scores? how much weight do they put on the lower scores?

Thank you so much for your help!

Yale has stated that they will not take super scoring to discourage students constantly retaking exam after exam after exam. Y feels that the standardized tests are only a small measure of consideration and don’t want HS students to be overly fixated on them.

Perhaps this applies to you?

T26E4, thanks so much for the reply! yeah, I understand your point. but i am just sort of pressurized by so many high scores that ppl on CC have obtained (not to mention others who never go on CC but are also applying for Yale SCEA) haha, perhaps i am just try to look for some psychological reassurance

So how do you think of my scores? :)

The healthy attitude when applying to Yale et al is to not think about whether you’ll get in because the odds are so low especially if you don’t fit into a special category. So relax, do your applications and don’t get caught up in the worry game.

Ok, thank you for the advice, I will. :)

I imagine that some lower-level reader/reviewer in the Yale office will check to see if any of your scores deviate hideously from your superscore components but otherwise yes, they do superscore.
