<p>So when you send in your ACT score at least, colleges can see what you wrote for the writing portion...My last test I did pretty well on the multiple choice and wrote pretty poorly. Will that negatively impact me in any way?</p>
<p>Colleges get the writing score but they don’t get your essay. If they want to review any particular essay after they get your scores they can, if they desire, go to a a secured on-line account they have with the testing agency and actually review your essay.</p>
<p>As to whether your essay score itself has any impact, it depends on college. Some consider it (although it is not treated like regular section scores) and some ignore it entirely (e.g., Stanford, UChicago, Cornell and Columbia)</p>
