Does your school have a "lights-out" policy?

I'm one of those people who like to sleep late and finish homework a bit slower than normal to "get get the job done right". I don't know why, but that's just me. I thought I would make this thread for applicants who are interested about knowing schools' lights out policies, to what grades they regard, and what time the policy begins to apply throughout the entire week. So I'll start-

Andover-No "lights-out" Policy
Deerfield- Freshman "lights-out" policy at 10:30
Saint Paul's-No "lights-out" policy

Also, does the Kent School have this kind of policy? Thanks!

I thought Andover did have one for freshmen?

Did it? Oh I’ll have to check. I heard it didn’t have that kind of policy.

Andover has 11 PM lights out for freshmen and no lights out for other grades.

Peddie has a 10:30 lights out policy for freshman, 11:00 for sophmores and juniors, and none for seniors. There is only check in on Saturday night, no “lights out”.

Haha I wonder if those lights out policies are only theoretical for most dorns, as is the case at Exeter.

I wish. Peddie’s is pretty strict - they keep to the schedule.

Do you all know if Choate has one? I’d like to go there, so I was just wondering. (And if you know for Taft, Concord, NMH, and Deerfield, that’d be great.)

Taft has a 10:30 lights out for freshmen and sophomores, 11:00 for juniors and none for seniors (not so sure for juniors & seniors)

All these times seem pretty late to me, I’m more of a morning person :)

Kent has lights out at 10:30 for under formers, upper formers do not have lights out. Saturdays there is no lights out at all

The lights out policy at DA (dependent on your dorm resident, but most are cool) isn’t really that strict. I just means be in your room, and be quiet. And there isn’t lights out on Fridays and Saturdays.

Lights out at Choate is 10:45 for academic nights.
