I could have went to T.J. High school in a better part of VA. imiracle, your location reminded me of that oppurtunity. Yeah..SDFLJSDKL:F

public canadian school....every once in a while someone goes to an ivy.....a few people every year go to state colleges for sports... so no....low quality turnout in comparison

Stanford: 2-4 each year.

And as for any other prestigious schools, very irregular and frequent breaks.

Most ivies, MIT, Caltech and Stanford: 2-5 a year
Cornell: ~40 a year

EWU = Eastern Washington University

No one has gone to an Ivy or similar school from my h.s. since ... ~3 years ago and that was Dartmouth. It was the same year that we had 2 NMFs and since then, we haven't had one.

Mostly, for those that graduate, people go our state schools (mainly UW), and the others go to CCs.

Put it simply, I'm the only one from our school who had taken the SAT, possibly ever.

But then, I'm international.

Fresno State- about 50 a year
Harvard- one over 60 years

lol...

average SAT 1490

25% go to HYP
20% to the other 5 ivys.
Most kids go to school in the top 25 on the US world and news report.

One of my friends at stanford was telling us how he's been writing papers in his freshman english class that would have been Bs back in high school, but he's getting As on them.

We send some. At least one a year. Last year, one went to Dartmouth, another to yale

My school isn't that hot acdemically. But every school has its smart kids. Last year, 1 went to Cornell, 1 to Princeton, 2 to NYU. I think that's it for the REALLY good colleges. But a bunch of the kids go to the local community college.

We had one to Duke and the rest to in state colleges and that was out of 300 kids. Stupid stupid school...

we generally have 1 go to harvard, 3 at mit, and 12 accepted at cornell. don't know how the other ivies stand. most ppl go to penn state, as it's cheap, especially if ppl's parents are employees.

pyrrhus do you go to TJ?

*** is TJ?

Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology

Our school always sends a few kids to Ivies and the UC's. Average grade size is 75. So far this year we have:

2- Columbia
1- Penn
3- Brown
1- Deep Springs College (Was accepted to Harvard EA, but turning it down for DSC)
1- Stanford
1- Pomona
1- Middlebury
2- Wesleyan
2- NYU
UC's will take up a fairly good portion of our grade, but not everyone is sure where they are going. A lot will be going to UCSB, but some will go to UCLA, UCSD and UC Berkeley.

Most likely we will have a few more Ivy leaguers. The majority of our class goes to good schools like University of Miami, Tulane, LMU, Bard.

Pyrrhus,

What school do you attend?

We consistanly send at least two to penn eacher year, one year we sent 10. Last year we had 4 to sanford, with a few more turning it down. A few to Yale, 2 to harvard, 4 to UVa (out of state), Tulane, Vanderbuilt - 5 last year, Harvey Mudd, Rice (4 or 5 last year) , Duke - 2, Emory, Tuffts, gorgetown, WashU. There are more, Im just too lazy to dig it up.
This is out of a class of 110 kids, with 100% going to college.

For the local HS: about 54% of last year's graduating class went to community colleges. For some reason the administration views this with some sort of pride - "at least they're staying in state." Gah. I would say another 20% go to other schools in-state; (UW, UPS, Evergreen, WWU) Another 10% head to terrible colleges in Idaho, Oregon, and Minnesota (No one - not even the over-qualified - head to Reed or Carleton)
Wow. I just realized how truly mediocre my high school is. (Well . . . Not really mine. Even though I left after freshman year, there's some ill-fated affection there.) Most of the really bright ones head to NYU and the Claremont Colleges - Pomona and Claremont-McKenna are popular. There's been 1 to Columbia every year for almost a decade. It was, however, was a HUGE deal when a young girl got into Harvard four years ago. Few before, none since.
As opposed to this year: already, 1 boy was admitted to Columbia, another to Stanford, another to MIT, and a girl to Caltech. I hope to go to lil ol' Bryn Mawr ( at least it's out of state :)

Couple students from my school go to ivies every year, basically 1 caltech, 1 standford, and less than 10 go to good LACs. Tons of UC, USC, and Cal State. And 1 went to West Point last year. There is a girl admitted to Cornell this year, and someone applied Harvard, we are waiting for his result, the last one who went to H from my school was 8 years ago.
