doing a extra year in high school and a gap year.

Sooo...

I was curious to know, I know a few people at my high school who have had to do another full year of high school because of missing credits and late wake up calls. So I was wondering how do college ADcoms see this? If you take a gap year, your entering college a year late and graduating a year behind your estimated real class and the same thing goes when you stay an extra year of high school. Is it failure to them? Do they see that you realized your mistakes, give you a second chance?

Lol oh yeah, No I'm not staying an extra year, I already graduated high school. But I did take a gap year.

I took an extra year of high school. It's basically an optional year for us (in Ontario). If you want to stay a "fifth" year it's your choice.

I don't think it would be a failure to those who took an extra year of high school. I mean it didn't seem to affect my decisions at all. I think it would only affect your chances if the reason you stayed was because you failed your course and that's in your transcript. If you failed courses, well evidently that will affect your GPA and academic record...
