I was wonder if its too late to be really active during my Senior Year. Like joining a sport and doing E.C.s like joining Red Cross and etc. Throughout my High School Career I wasn’t in any clubs besides like 1. I was wonder if its too late to do this for my UC Applications. Thanks.
I assume you were doing something with your time after school all those years. It’s unlikely that you have no ECs at all unless you were at home watching TV every day. Don’t sell yourself short just because whatever you were doing wasn’t part of a club, or school-related or ‘organized’ by some third party. That said, if you want to try something new, it’s never too late (and yeah, you can put it on your application too, but that’s not the main reason to do it.) I doubt the UCs will care very much if you are in-state. Grades and test scores (and the ability to pay) are the main drivers for admissions (and they don’t include 9th grade.)
Joining a sport senior year won’t help you unless you somehow become a top recruited athlete. Red cross would count as volunteer service I believe so that would help.
If you enjoy the sport do it. Don’t do it just for college admissions…
