Anyone know how much curves change from year to year (particularly with regard to free-response, which seems so far to be way harder than past released tests)?

Begoner: same here, same here! I did comp sci and stat too...I was almost fainting during the stat exam >.<

but yeah I ran out of time for stat FR and didn't quite finish the investigative question. DISASTER. :(
sigh.
(The computer science FR is pretty handy, though :))

i felt the multiple choice was REALLY easy. i left 2 blank because some of the questions were just a little tricky.

as for the FRQ, it was okay being as 1 - 4 were easy, i went on to 6 and did the hypothesis test and the linear regression and was attempting part c of 6 when i ran out of time and hadn't done anything for 5, which i then just attempted to scribble anything i possibly could on..... including this is sparta.

I drew an AP Statistics Moose with histograms as antlers. it was awesome.

In all seriousness though - MC was all right with some really odd questions... FR was kind of hard, but I didn't study too well...

Grading:

AP Statistics - Google Book Search

Past cutoff scores:

2002
68-100 5
53-67 4
40-52 3
29-39 2
0 -28 1

2007
60 - 100 5
45-59 4
32-44 3
23-31 2
0 -22 1

Let's hope they use cutoffs more similar to last year's. And lower them, even.

It was harder than I expected.
I took about 3 practice test (from the past AP and one from Princeton Review book) and thought they were much easier than today's exam.
I agree; the free response were kind of confusing.

I didn't study and was horribly nervous, but the test went pretty smoothly. The MC was good. I guessed on a few though...

The FRQ was a whole lot easier than I expected. I was pressed for time, but I think it went well.

yeah : )

wen can we talk about answers?

The mc had a couple confusing questions. In the words of my friend, I "got raped" by the FRQ. x_x I got stuck on #5 and I rushed through 6, went back and attempted 5. Uggggh...it was a horrible blur.

we can talk about answers in "48 hours"

It was alright to tell you the truth, but i didn't completely finish FR...i think i got a 5 though..especially if it's a 60/100

lol

What are the grading scales usually for level of work shown? How much work is usually needed to be shown? For some of them I just wrote down a menu of values and then a menu of calculated values from my calculator after writing the method...if this was all correct and the answer, will that be a 4/4 for a question?

Yeah.. I took it today and it was wayyy harder than I expected! The Multiple choice was alright, I probably missed 5-9 questions due to mistakes etc. (I didn't have time to check over answers since I had to go to the bathroom and when I came back time was almost out) The Free Response was hard though. I got questions 1,2, 3ab, 4ac, 5, 6ab, but some parts were confusing and i was like *** *** *** *** ***!!! spent like 15 minutes debating if what I put down was right or not on question 6, then I ran out of time so i bsed the parts that I skipped earlier. Anyways, I'm predicting a 4, but I want a 5 so badly! If I got two fours, two threes, and two twos on the FR, and missed 7 on the MC, what score would I get? I want a 5!! Also, when can we talk about FR??

I thought the test was really easy, especially the multiple choice. But I did a horrible job managing my time on the free response question and I pretty much left all of #6 blank. Hopefully that one question won't outright kill my chances of getting a 5...

i thought multiple choice was pretty easy

BUT OMG I FAILED QUESTION 5 OF THE FREE RESPONSE

I CHOSE THE WRONG TEST AOTIND;ODF;BFGB

and then that led me to get part b wrong too...

wow that sucked pretty badly. can i still get a 5 with like a 0 on the part?

I thought that the test was overall very easy... maybe because my teacher is like insane and gives us wayy harder test and quizzes... there was just a few mc that was confusing and the open response was easier than i thought. i had plenty of time left for the open response (30 minutes). i ended taking a nap since i pulled an all night to study... ppl ready for calc tomorrow?

I thought the MC was hard for me, but the FR was pretty easy. The only part I really got stuck on was the last part in #6... I wasn't really sure what it was asking for.

i thought the MC was easier than the ones we do in class, and the FR wasnt that bad, i probably got 80% at least of the points.
if anyone wants to share their opinions, feel free to AIM me:

MC was definitely harder... second to last question... ?

but FRQ i felt really good about.

hope i pass

@jadore_isabella

lol, I did the same thing, I was part of the way through #4 before I realized.

i thought that the test was WAY easier than the practice one that we took. there wasn't any binomial...the probability problem on today's test i thought was the easiest of all. the MC was okay, though, some were confusing. im still hoping for a 5!!!
